Scripture reading prayer

Dear Lord,

I come to you with a humble heart, seeking your guidance and blessing as I embark on my daily scripture reading. Your words are a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path, and I am grateful for the opportunity to delve deeper into them through my readings.

Please guide my mind and heart as I read your word in the English language. Open my eyes to new insights and revelations that will strengthen my faith and deepen my understanding of your love and teachings. Help me to apply these lessons to my daily life and walk in your ways.

I pray that you will bless me with wisdom to understand your word and discernment to apply it to my life. May my scripture reading bring me closer to you and transform me into the image of your Son, Jesus Christ.

Thank you, Lord, for the gift of your written word and for the privilege to read it in my native language. May it always be a source of comfort, guidance, and inspiration for me. I pray all this in the name of Jesus.
